Social mobilization for malaria prevention and control round 8 period 13 quarter 17 in south East Nigeria implemented by HEALIN is gradually coming to a conclusion as HEALIN CSO partners have sent in their interim report and are now preparing the final reports. Quarter17 activities began with community advocacy. CSOs made advocacy visits to stakeholders including community heads, school owners and principals and church leaders. This visits allowed them gain community acceptance and involvement as well as scheduling dates for the actual social mobilization activities. The social mobilization featured short drama presentation and IPC Sessions as strategies. In some communities where outreaches were conducted with low turn up, the IPC strategy was used to ensure that at least 80% of community populace were reached.
